Work With Me to Save the Seas: Help Find and Promote Alternatives to Single-Use Plastics

Use alternative materials. One example: six-ring carriers for aluminum beer cans can be replaced by 100% biodegradable carriers that are made with the barley and hops waste/byproduct from the brewing process. This carrier, comprised of organic materials is also safe for animals to eat/ingest.
This is one of many alternatives. Many companies and Universities have already joined the movement. Jacksonville University started a ban against the use of plastic straws. Other local businesses and restaurants located near and around the St. John's River and Atlantic ocean coast are doing their part. Help us to conserve what our children deserve!

Why is this important?

This would help reduce plastic pollution on land and in our oceans, as well as save countless lives of birds, turtles, and many other wildlife species that come in contact with plastic debris.
Procrastination won't help the next generation. Plastics are forever. We desperately need a change.

How it will be delivered

I plan to start with social media to gain supporters. I will also present the petition at the Jacksonville Science Festival. Then I will present it to large manufacturing and distribution companies locally, such as PepsiCo and Budweiser, and then to the mayor, Florida Senate and the Governor.
